IIC is an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India for selected Higher Education Institutes.
MIC & IIC
MHRD has established ‘MHRD’s own Innovation Cell (MIC)’. The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform their ideas into prototypes, while they are in their formative years.
MIC plans to achieve this by systematically fostering a culture of innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), by creating individual ‘Institution’s Innovation Councils (IICs)’ across selected HEIs.
A network of these IICs will be established to promote innovation in the institution through multiple modes, leading to an innovation promotion ecosystem in the campuses.
Vidyasagar College, Indore is a member of MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC). The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) aims to streamline and strengthen the innovation and start-up ecosystem in the campus so that students can develop a skill set that enables critical thinking, design thinking and an innovative thought process, and encourages an entrepreneurial mindset.
